Hi, I have had a fair bit of trouble getting hold of minecraft 1.4.6
I found a few legit looking links, but java can't open them for whatever reason. The original (1.0.0) launcher runs fine but can't update itself - it breaks when i force update.
Does anyone know how to get this?
On another note, do I actually need to have minecraft 1.4.6 in order to run forge 1.4.6?

Click "edit profile" and pick the Minecraft version in the dropdown menu.
And yes, you do need the specific Minecraft version to run mods made for said specific version.
