I believe I have a corrupt map problem that is causing extreme lag (fps of about 1). It's also causing the minecraft process to not exit properly. It's hard to isolate the problem, but it's possible that the lag is caused by the spawning of many, many mobs incorrectly, but I think that may have happened after the problem really started.
So I suppose I have a few questions:
is there anything obvious I can do to check for bad map data? (Most googling reveals solutions for corruption that results in saves not even appearing on the game menu; this corruption, if that's what it is, isn't that serious.)
is there any way to simply remove a whole pile of mobs in one fell swoop by editing the map data and/or doing something in game (can cheats be enabled after the world has been created)?
Is my map simply doomed? (sob)
Thanks
