Minecraft Forums

I recently tried out the alpha and beta versions of minecraft via the 1.6 launcher. Before then I could log into servers (including my own) without a problem. After this though, I could connect to servers but minecraft would just freeze when I tried to log into them. I tried backing up my worlds and deleting the .minecraft folder and letting the game make a new one and that didn't help. Could this problem be related to playing on the alpha or beta? And how do I fix it?
