The Intel Core(TM) 2 Duo is a pretty outdated processor; mine has an Intel Core(TM) i3 processor. 2GB of RAM is pretty low, I allocate 3GB to Minecraft to get a decent amount of FPS. Windows XP is very outdated; Vista, 7, and 8 have already passed XP. (I would recommend Windows 7 or Windows 8.)
Yeah. Sadly you can't get a decent computer today without spending at least the $400 for a baseline system. I will also note: Some older systems dont support OpenCG or whatever its called... I had this issue when restoring an older XP. I had to order a special graphics card to run the game that supported the OpenCG. Of course the card itself cost $250 but now I get Far no Optifine +120 FPS XD. You can't usually expand your GPU in laptops so you are kind of stuck.
EDIT: Maybe its DirectX.... Idk. But its a graphics compatiblility type thing. Some older GPUs just dont have it.
