Hey everyone! This isn't necessarily a crash, but a severe issue I would like to fix.
I have recently aquired a VPN licence for HideMyAss' VPN network. I have been recently attacked by multiple DDoS attacks and am weary about how server owners are using my IP. I am perfectly able to connect through this VPN with Chrome, but when I try to connect to any server off of my LAN through Vanilla 1.6.4 minecraft, it gives me a "Can't reach server" error. When I manually ping the server I am trying to reach, I actually get very good ping times. (<200ms). So my question is, why isn't Minecraft connecting when I am using this VPN, and how can I fix this issue? I decided to ask here because Minecraft is my only application being affected by this issue.
Do not tell me how HMA is bad, sucks, or what not. I simply wish for an answer. Help only please.
I am running Windows 7 Premium with SP1. Quad Core i5, 6GB total RAM.
Minecraft connects absolutely fine to my local server running on the same subnet.
Any suggestions?

Because I'm to lazy to advertise my server with a real picture.
My best guess is that the VPN is either non-standard or is not configured correctly, because I can use Minecraft perfectly fine through an OpenVPN connection.

If ANYONE has ANY suggestions on how to directly rectify this issue I would be very appreciative, considering HMA isn't exactly quick with their feedback.
