EDIT:
Turns out I actually have java ONE.6 (not 6)
I'm gonna go update that really quick...
Hey,
As far as I know Windows 2000 should be able to run Minecraft.
I have:
Java 6
OpenGL (1.1 I think)
I'm pretty sure that is all Minecraft needs to run.
Anyway I tried the old launcher (1.5.2)
It crashed. I don't have the error message though but I could get it if you want.
I tried the new launcher and it downloaded Minecraft and ran the logo.
It worked fine but when it was about to go to the title screen I got this:
---- Minecraft Crash Report ----
// Don't do that.

Is there anything I need to install, or is Windows 2000 officially unsupported (Minecraft classic crashed also)
Strange.
I tried the batch file you provided and it gave me "dxdiag filecreated under the name dxdiag.txt located at C:/blah/blah/desktop"
(well basically)
I tried it manually and it brought up a strange windows with a bunch of pages giving me one-lines spreadsheet looking things.
That didn't come out very clear...
Still, It doesn't solve my problem.

It's a diagnostic tool, it isn't the solution. As we cannot get the required information, I'm afraid we cannot help you.
