I've seen videos of players like this one
who has Intel i3 2.1 ghz 4gb ram, and Intel HD 3000 graphics.
I have Intel i3 3.3 ghz(Yes, faster ) , 4gb ram, and Intel HD 3000 Graphics.
However, unlike him I only get 15~20 FPS if I use Optifine and turn off
EVERY OTHER OPTIONS OFF(LIKE LITERALLY EVERYTHING.) and short render distance.(Of course I'm not recording with Fraps)
I reinstalled my operating system(that is, Windows 7) and it still lags. Is there any thing I can do to improve this horrible FPS?
Also I've seen this guy
run Minecraft on a very low-end CHROMEBOOK($200 laptop) and run it at decent FPS(Well, decent for me).
Should I try running linux (if yes, recommend me one ) to improve this horrible fps?

AND Btw, I don't have any programs running (checked Task manager) while playing minecraft.

I have not upgraded my drivers since I bought my computer. Could this be a significant impact?
Some tips for getting rid of lag
1: Put all settings on low or medium
2: Download the Optifine mod
3: Close all running programs while playing the game
4: Dont play on a laptop, they are cheap like that for a reason
5: Reboot your Computer often
6: Check for virus/malicious software on your computer
7: Dont overload your Minecraft with tons of worlds
8: Get the latest version of Minecraft
9: Get rid of any programs you don't use anymore
10: Say your welcome to supercreeperman5!
Expirence: My laptop is old and slow and i get about 2-7 fps but after doing all these i have 20 fps now! and i beleve the Chromebook is fairly new.
are you running 64 bit java? Have you set your Java RAM Arguments? Have you prioritized your system processes, and ended the process trees of any unnecessary processes? Do you have a Virus?
Don't base your assumptions of what your system should be pulling off of other people's systems and how they perform. Minecraft's performance varies seemingly on anything. I pull maybe 300-500fps normally, but I've seen people with identical specs who can get 700fps and people who get 90fps. Sometimes it's just luck.
