How can I enable cross platform client server support?

Either
1) multiple clients (MC on PC or Mac and MC PE on iOS) --->>> MC Server on PC or Mac

Or
2) multiple clients (MC on PC or Mac and MC PE on iOS) --->>> MC PE Server on PC or Mac

I want to get the two kids playing on the same world ... one is on a ipad the other is on a Macbook ...

You cannot.

They are different versions of the game running on different coding platforms.
