I recently got a new laptop asus k55a: 8gb ram, 750 hardrive core i7, and so obviously the first thing i did was download minecraft. it was fine, it ran it at 120 fps. then one day i was on a server and my minecraft closed and said, minecraft has run out of memory. this confuses me so i close it and open it again and everything works and doesnt crash again but one thing i notice is my fps wont go higher than 35 i have it on far...35 i have it on tiny 35.. sometimes it goes to 36 but even with all the settings on low it doesnt change. So i allocated more memory to it.. it had 1gb so i gave it 2..nothing changed... then i even allocated 3 gbs!! still nothing happened. i am completely stumped.. if anyone could help that would be fantastic. thanks
^ Optifine should help and bring it to about 60 FPS, but don't rely on it. Close other programs, unnecessary services, and ensure you have the latest graphics drivers. Also, when updating, do NOT select the one that's intended for IT and developers, it will just slow it even more.

Anyway, disable V-Sync and Advanced OpenGL. It should greatly improve performance.
