[1.6.2] URGENT HELP NEEDED - DxDIAG PROVIDED - Java Edition Support - Support - Minecraft Forum

I will go through my problems step by step.

1) I open the launcher. It is fine; fairly slow, because I have an ancient laptop, but I'm used to that.

2) I press play (on the default 1.6.2 vanilla profile).

3) It runs through the 'development console'. It then slows down or stops at 'searching for old natives to clear up'.

4) After about 2 minutes, it finally launches the game and then there is no sound, and when I click on 'singleplayer', it just stays blue for about 90-500 seconds and then goes onto the worlds list screen. It doesn't make the noise.

5) I then either double-click on my world, which results in another 90-500 second wait until my world loads (if at all), and again, it makes no sound.

6) From here, there are several different things that can happen:

- The screen goes black, apart from my hotbar, my pointer and whatever I have equipped in my hand (for some reason whatever is equipped is faded quite a bit. If I press f3, my y-co-ordinate is falling.

- It loads. There is no sound. I can do everything I normally do, except animals do not move, there are no animations, I cannot open GUIs (e.g. chests) and some chunks don't load, there is no sound and when I break blocks, they do not drop. Then after a while, it goes back to a previous point while I was playing on it, and it makes sound again, but there are still chunk errors, and soon it goes back into the previous phase.

Am I running out of memory?

Things I have tried...

- Updating Java
- Deleting .minecraft and reinstalling it
- Ditto except without reinstalling MCPatcher
- Giving Java more memory
- Going on a different world
- Checking my settings with Speccy
- Uninstalling lots of programmes, including Steam. Also removed all of Steam's Program Files.

When/how did the problem arise? I'm not quite sure, but it could have been any of the following (or something else I don't know about):

- Started about a week ago
- I updated LWJGL just before then with an automatic updater (although that might have been when I was playing MC 1.5.2, I can't remember)
- I installed Steam right before it happened
- I have an awful laptop, but I see no reason for it to start turning uncontrollable out of the blue
