I've been having issues loading vanilla minecraft for a long time now, and I'm getting tired of it. I think I've narrowed it down to the launcher not being able to actually communicate with the minecraft servers or something along those lines (the tumbler page wouldn't even load) so that may be the continual problem and for that I hope there's a solution.
Flash forward to today when I download the new launcher to check out the new snapshots and lo and behold, the new launcher which I expected to fix the problem and work beautifully is sadly and frustratingly impotent. Any troubleshooting tips, advice, or encouragement would be gladly appreciated. Have wonderful days.
It's been 10 minutes with the old java and it's still loading profiles. It's also having problems loading the page. It's using very little of my computer's resources, like it isn't even trying.
Now, I have a beautiful black screen. It's something, though. Here's the console log for you.

Hi,
Does your computer freeze or lagg while this happens?
Hi,
If your computer froze, then I would know what was causing it, but I still think you have the same issue.
Uninstall all versions of Java and try installing Java 6 (yes, Java 6) from here.
Hi,
Download this, save it to your desktop, shift right click on your desktop and press "Open command window here".
In it, type in The launcher will open, see if you can replicate it.
Sorry, download this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/launcher/Minecraft.jar

Hi,
Sadly it looks like that did not solve it.
In that case, i'll probably assume that Java 8 will solve this.
Please uninstall all versions of Java on your system again and install the EA version of Java 8 which is known to solve issues like this.
32bit - 64bit.
I've been experiencing the same problem and the screen is freezing. Please help?
