Hello. I'm still new to Minecraft I only started playing it recently. I have a decent computer and it was going well unitl... until I started to mess with Java. I'm decent with technology and build PCs and do a little networking I don't do a lot however what little I manage with networking and phone operations I do when I'm on duty.
Anyways so I was trying to get the Far rendering thing to work and it kept telling me I had 32bit Java when I had the 64bit Java installed. So I decided to delete all the java applications I had which was only 3. The three were the default Java download and the 64bit I had installed and something called FX which I don't know what that one is. Also these were up-to-date with the latest Java update 25.
So I go on... I delete the 3 apps and reinstall Java 64bit. Now Minecraft wouldn't even open. So I reinstalled the default 32bit one and now I can get into Minecraft again however now it's laggy and crashes every couple of minutes. So I'm assuming it's something I did when I was messing with the Java stuff...
My PC runs on a Windows 7 64bit OS. I don't know how to get the crash logs for Minecraft so I can't post that... I could put up my dxdiag thing, but I don't see how all the info will be any help. I mean I can just stat that I have;
OS Windows 7 64bit
Processor AMD Phenom II X4 3.5GHz
HDx1 300Gb 10,000RPM 64Mb cache SATA 6.0Gb/s (/C: for OS and other applications)
HDx1 1Tb 7,200RPM 64Mb cache SATA 6.0Gb/s (/D: for games)
VidCard SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770
RAM 8Gb
Motherboard ASUS AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s
Also I should note that since I got back from Wisconson last week I've been getting a pop-up saying my Tb HD is failing and I should back it up and replace it... I've already found it's not a virus and its infact Windows is telling me this, but I just don't have the money to go buy a new one right now and so far it still starts up no problem I just have to press F1 everytime I turn my computer on cause it gives me the same message of the failing HD.
Howdy! I'm sorry to hear about your problem and I hope what I have can be of some use! When you got rid of your java 32 bit did you completely uninstall it? Another thing to help with your fps is to download this mod called optifine. It basically makes minecraft run a lot faster and more efficient. If you would be interested in using this mod you can go here.
Thanks for the replies. I was getting worried no one would respond to my S.O.S.
I'll try the optifine thing and see if that helps, but yes I did completely uninstall Java 32bit manually through the add/remove programs function. I've since reinstalled it and I'm still getting troubles... I wish I didn't mess with Java T-T
The JavaRA solution... I was really hoping that'd work but it doesn't seem to be sadly... The optifine didn't fix anything either. It still lags then freezes and crashes. This sucks :0
I'm trying the download for Java 8. I didn't know there were 2 things we needed for Java. JRE and JDK? The Java website only gives me the JRE. Also should I still only download the 64bit version or should I also download the 32bit version for in case of other applications; like my FireFox which is only available as a 32bit browser?

You only need the JRE, the runtime environment. The JDK is for developers. Only grab the 64-bit version, and see if Minecraft runs.
Where do I find the crash log? I'll get the dxdiag log shortly and add it to this post...
EDIT:
Scratch that I can't figure out how to add it into the post :/
EDIT:
Also while trying to get the crash replort for Minecraft that I noticed was in your sig... Yeah not progressing very well with that, but I did manage to catch this little bit:
Game ended with bad state (exit code -805306369)
Ignoring visibility rule and showing launcher due to a game crash
Deleting C:\Users\Pasquale\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.6.2\1.6.2-natives-8814289248586
Couldn't delete C:\Users\Pasquale\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.6.2\1.6.2-natives-8814289248586 - scheduling for deletion upon exit
This is odd... I while I was waiting for the crash to happen again so I can look for crash log I went into the profile thingy for the launcher and clicked the "exicutible" thing for the Java part... It has in the menu bar thing "C:\Program Files\Java\jre8\bin\javaw.exe" So I followed it to its location and noticed ther ewas one that said just java.exe. So I ereased the "w" and relaunched it... and so far no crashes!!!
I dunno if it will again so I'm pushing the limits alot and seeing if it'll crash when I play for longer periods of time.
EDIT:
So far it seems to be just a little laggy, but hasn't crashed yet so I think I may be in the clear? Sorta? I mean... the lag gets annoying but still... It's just too bad there's all sorts of baddies out side my home doors to which my 1 heart left isn't enough to run out there and kill them seeing I have no armor...
EDIT:
Scratch that it's starting to have problems besides lagging and crashing... T-T
Fixed it. I uninstalled Firefox completely and all its pluggins. I think one of the Java pluggins was messing with Java as a whole cause I reinstalled FireFox and Java 7.25 both 32 and 64 bit and now everything seems to be good. No more crashing just a little lag in the high FPS parts which I'll just lower the settings. I mean... it's a 3D 8-bit styled game so I don't think lowering graphic details will be a huge issue.
I thank you all for your support and help

Hi,
There are probably corrupt Java entries on your computer.
Uninstall all Java versions off your system.
Then download JavaRA.
In the ZIP file, go into the "JavaRA" folder, and run "JavRA.exe".
In the menu, select "Remove JRE", then you should get a dropdown, if anything is in the list, press "Run Uninstaller".
Once the list is empty, continue to "Next", and press "Preform Removal Routine", then close out of the program.
Install Java again after.
