I select the Minecraft icon, the main screen comes up and I select play at the bottom on the page and then my Mac screen goes black and the Mac is locked. I have to turn off the Mac to bring it back up. I have updated to the latest version of Minecraft...I think 1.6.2. Can anyone tell me how to fix. I do get a quick look at a series of what looks like Minecraft start up code...says loading data...no data found?? I'm pretty much a novice at this since I just downloaded the Mac version of Minecraft recently and only got to use it about a week before I encountered the above problem...Please help if you can...thanks
I have the same problem on the mac but i know why mine will not launch, it is because i have a texture pack that is too big and it won't open. Can anyone PLEASE help me? THANK YOU

You need to install all available Software Updates available for your Mac.
To do so, click the Apple icon in the top left of the screen, and click Software Update. Continue to install the updates until there are none.
