If I minimize the game for 10+ minute it freezes up. It happens in a game and on the startup page after I quit a game.

I'm running 64 bit java 1.7.0_21
Never did this only my old computer. Happens every time on my new computer since I installed minecraft on it 4-5 months ago. Radeon HD 7950, Intel i5-3570K, and 8 gigs of ram. Drivers should all be up to date.
this is because when you min a window, the comput. places it at low priority, so it doesnt move. when you bring the window back up, minecraft has to update it's display to real time, and that means compressing 10+ mins of action into a second. dont minimi it, just put another window on top of it, or quit minecraft/ pause on single play.

Your post is all wrong, highly wrong. I really want a link or article in which you "claim" this information from.
@OP, what kind of storage device do you have. Is it a SSD or HDD that you are using for minecraft? What is your Power Settings in Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options, set this to High Performance.
Reason I ask this, is by chance windows is turning the device off, and minecraft cannot then "write" to the device and by time it detects this, the storage device is already at operation again due to request and therefore minecraft is able to save chunks and then spit a error code.
Guesstimate at finest, but I cannot say for certain yet.
It's saved to my HDD. My power options are balanced. It'll freeze up not only in a world but just sitting at the main menu too, I've uninstalled java and reinstalled it. It'll say something about a java runtime error before it fully exit's back to the launcher.

What is the java runtime error you get?
Never hold back information on this kind of thing from logs.
I know. I was trying to get it to error last night but it got too late.
Java(TM) Platform SE Binary is not responding.
If you close the program, you might lose information.
->Close the program
->Wait for program to respond
I bring up minecraft after it's sat idle for awhile and my cursor just goes into perpetual loading and the game fades to a whitish fog. Top left it says "not responding". I rightclick the startbar icon and click close and then the java platform error pops up. I hit close and then the launcher comes back up with the error message I posted earlier. Waiting for it to respond doesnt do anything.
It really sounds like a buffer overflow of some form possibly.
I would highly say open Resource Monitor and just watch CPU usage till crash/not responding.
If that is not spiking high or just dropping to near idle, then its fine.
Next would be to watch Ram usage and see if it just randomly starts jumping up for Javaw.exe past w/e you have allocated for Minecraft.
Next would be HDD/Disk usage. Keep note here of Queue and Write/Reads for Javaw.exe. Basically keep eyes open for Queue lengths that are very high, ideally Minecraft shouldn't require no more then 1 at most.
