I would just like to query, this morning, while playing Minecraft, the game began to freeze every few seconds for a few seconds. So i decided to quit and restart but when i got to the main menu the game froze completely and i could not click the Quit button, so i used Windows task Manager to shut down the program.
when i tried to restart the game has been stuck at Loading World Building Terrain. I did a quick search of google and basically found suggestions of update Java, i did, make sure Minecraft is updated, 1.6.2. Also to remove any mods that might be installed, but i dont have any what so ever.
I tried using the Advanced Minecraft Error Tester and while the program was running i saw alot of WRONG LOCATION (COW) messages. It seems the world is trying to load but just cant.
Any help you could give on this matter would be greatly appreciated, if you would like the crash report i would be more than happy to send it
If your world got corrupted you can try to repair it with MCEdit. Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.
You may also need to remove certain corrupt entities. In order to remove entities from a map, follow these steps. Warning: This will delete any and all entities in the selected region, including tamed animals! Open the map in MCEdit, select the affected region or use CTRL-A to select the whole world, then click on 'Delete Entities' in the menu on the left hand side.
To download MCEdit, go to http://www.mcedit.net/ and choose the version appropriate for your OS.
Thank you for the help, i managed to try Region Repair but with no success, so you are more than likely right that i need to remove the affected entities in the regions. The thing is, i have absolutely no idea how to do this! Should i have MCEdit open in camera view or Chunk view? Also how would i selct a region? I seem to be only able to select chunks, unless if i am doing something wrong.
I tried a quick search of Google but could not see exactly how to do these edits. Thanks again for the help!
Just an update to say i got the world working again by deleting all entities in the world through MCEdit. Just hope that i havent permanently deleted any mobs in the process :)!
IF u lost to many animals use MC-Edit and the Repopulate button on Chunk tool.
it will respown animals. (ok trees and ore too but i hop thats not a problem for u) .-)
guys i really need help i recently downloaded crazycraft of of the voidswrath website. everytime i goto play it gets stuck on loading world, building terrain. I JUST WANNA PLAY!

Congrat u found the Forum.
Bad thing is u are her at "unmodified-minecraft-client" and u are instal a Mod. . . U found u Error ???
Right it would be batter to look on the Forum for the Mod than her.
We can only Help with Problems from un-modification Minecraft Clients.
