So i'm on the minecraft launcher, and I logged in to my account, and I clicked "Play."
So I waited, but 5-10 seconds after, this thing popped up saying, "This error is caused by a lack of up to date graphics drivers. If you are unsure of how to update your drivers, please click 'Fix the problem' for more information."
So, I'm not really a computer guy, so I was wondering if one of you could help me out step by step how to update my graphics driver.
You need to know what kind of graphics card you have. nVidia "card name/number" or AMD "card name/number", then download it from their respective websites.
-Sorry if you don't understand how to find it, I've always done it that way.
I'm going to assume you have a windows 7 computer. If you have something else please let us know.
Go to the control panel
Open Device Manager
When the window opens, expand the "Display adapters" section by clicking the grey arrow
In the list that appears (you will likely only have 1 or 2, depending on your computer), right click the item in the list (it will probably say nVidia, AMD, or Radeon) and select "Update Driver Software..."
Select the "search automatically" option
If Windows Update can find a driver it will install it and ask you to restart the computer.
If it doesn't find one, you will need to find out your graphics card and check on the company's support site for a driver, like xHall said.

Or you can go into Start/Control panel/Add-remove programs, (programs and features if you have W7) scroll through the list for display drivers, It will tell you there who makes the drivers, Mine lists INTEL HD graphics drivers. So Intel provides the drivers. Go to the web site for yours and there is usually a tool on the site to detect your drivers and hardware. Use it and it will tell you if you need to upgrade and which one to pick.
I have an older computer at home with old AMD on board graphics drivers and Minecraft runs fine with no messages like you have. You may by chance have a set of really low class graphics, in which case you may have to do some hardware upgrades.
You may have to give some more details on your computer. Is this a laptop possibly. Bottom of the line laptops have crappy graphics and most likely won't run Minecraft.

That is a bad idea and will rarely ever find the latest drivers for said system.
Hi,
The instructions on the page should be helpful, but if you don't know how, please give us your DxDiag.
