I newly i got a new alienware 17 notebook...
wich got 16G ram and 4th generation i7 processor.
My pc is a 64 bit but when i download 64 bit java version i get this message:

couldn't launch game
java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe"

but when i uninstall java 64 bit and install java 32bit this does not happen?
but my minecraft lag like ­ on the 32bit version...

so the problem is java 32bit lags and crashes
and the java 64bit won't even open minecraft

so can anyone help me with this problem?
ps: sorry for my bad english

Try doing a sort of softupdate or java update maybe down grading to 32bit
And then installing ur mc again
