The new launcher starts up fine, it opens, logs me in, and I click play. The launcher closes and Minecraft opens. But it's not MInecraft, it's this wierd screen with sort of a honeycomb design on top and a bunch of collored lines below. I don't know why this is appearing. The first time I opened it, it looked like the Minecraft title screen, but the letters were blocks, I don't mean they were blocky letters, they were just gray rectangles. I decided to close Minecraft and open it up again and ever since then I've gotten one of these screens:
It looks like display driver issues, just because alot of the weirdness looks like what is in the background before loading. I see what looks like a row of empty folder icons in the first and internt explorer with far too many toolbars in the 2nd image. Block letters are also a common display error.
It could also be a java error. Run the online version and tell me if you have the same error. The link is gone from the website but it can be found here: https://minecraft.net/play
Also, do any other games or peograms have strange errors as well, reguardless of when they started? Or is ths just minecraft specific?
Before you go to bed, try upgrading your videocard drivers. It may or may not fix the problem, and should probably be done anyway. Dont do it at any time when you may want to get on your computer though.
