I have the latest Java version which I re-installed after this error, which I still am getting. The .exe just wont run.

Could my AV (ESET smart security) be blocking the connection?

Yes, the issue is most definitely ESET's SSL scanner.

ESET Security has a feature that interferes with minecraft's ability to connect to minecraft.net. First, open the advanced setup and follow this diagram:



Then, try to login to minecraft. ESET will open a window asking what to do, press EXCLUDE.

If that does not give you a prompt or does not work, set it to "Do not scan"

I did this and also added it to trusted certificates. I still get the error.

Please set it to "Do not scan".

Otherwise, if that does not work, you may have to disable ESET.

I get this exact same error, but I use Kaspersky internet sucurity and I have tried re-installing the amazon certificate and I have tried doing stuff, can I please have some help. Because I have posted 2 full threads, but have got no help at all
