[1.6.2] Resource Packs Above x64 Won't Load

Resource Packs Above x64 Won't Load

The resource pack I'm trying to load is Sphax PureBDCraft x128. http://tinyurl.com/chnjnyo

The resource pack shows up in the resource pack section of Minecraft but when

I go to click on the resource pack to load it, it doesn't load anything. I then later on tried loading

a smaller resolution resource pack (x64) and when I went to click on that in the

resource packs section In Minecraft, it loaded the pack perfectly without any problems!

When I was on the x64 resource pack and then tried to go on the x128 resource pack.

I found out that it loaded the default textures instead of the x128 pack. I then

tried re-installing the texture pack and even adding more ram to Minecraft but there was then

another problem...

I Can't Add Ram to Minecraft

I know to add ram into Minecraft you need to edit your profile, and enable JVM Arguments and then

change -Xmx1G to -Xmx(y)G (y=Gigabyte(s) Used)

When I load up minecraft with the changed ram, A Java Virtual

Machine Launcher Error comes up saying this:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.

Error: A fatal exception has occured. Program will exit.

Then I click OK on the popup and it brings me back to the launcher!

Note

I am using Minecraft 1.6.2 and the launcher I use is version 1.2.1

I am also using Windows 8!

You cannot add more than ~1.5GB of RAM for 32-bit Java, which is what you were trying to do I assume. Please install 64-bit Java if you have a 64-bit system, that will resolve said issue.

Thanks so much! I did install 64 bit Java and now it works!
