I just got Minecraft PC and I can't place or break blocks? Is there something wrong with my computer?

It is probably because you're on a server which doesn't allow you to place or break plugins.
If you can't do it in singleplayer, then it might mean you have a computer which doesn't have the specs for minecraft.

Also make sure you're not in Adventure mode some how. The block building functionalities are disabled there.
