I was having a problem signing in to minecraft so I deleted my .minecraft folder. I tried starting up minecraft again and it wouldn't start. It gave me an error message so I removed minecraft from my computer and downloaded minecraft just in case it was out of date or something. I ran that launcher and I got the same message.
This is what the error said: Bootstrap (v5) Current time is Aug 14, 2013 5:02:23 PM System.getProperty('os.name') == 'Windows 7' System.getProperty('os.version') == '6.1' System.getProperty('os.arch') == 'amd64' System.getProperty('java.version') == '1.7.0' System.getProperty('java.vendor') == 'Oracle Corporation' System.getProperty('sun.arch.data.model') == '64'
The client is having issues connecting with the servers, usually caused by software disruptions. What antivirus program do you have installed?
Unrelated, you have an extremely old version of Java installed. Please grab the latest 64-bit here. I would recommend removing all versions of Java before installing new ones. http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Ah. That could very well be the cause, actually. McAfee is one of the AV products known to break things. Try disabling its protection, though you may need to uninstall to properly determine if it's the problem.
It doesn't show java as an option when I'm in the firewall settings menu. Is there a special way to do that? My computer is running windows 7 if you were wondering.

Please fix the error and restart.
Just to make sure you know I do have a .minecraft folder now but it's empty.
Even if you don't know how to fix it, some suggestions would help.

Retired StaffNo, the servers at the time you were playing we currently down.
They have been restored as of current, however.
Do you have Java allowed through your firewall? If you don't that's what's blocking you from connecting.
