Member Details

When I go into any multiplayer server I am fine.
But when I host a server or play singleplayer I start getting lag spikes, making it hard to play.
I am using Optifine, but that doesn't seem to help.
Can anybody help?

It should, what didn't help is that it didn't install properly.

Please provide your DxDiag log again to confirm this.

In the meanwhile, please remove the current driver you have first with this tool,
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx

Then install the driver I linked.

Put simply, your CPU is too weak to run a server and play at the same time. Multiplayer servers have all of the most intensive calculations done on the server; most of what your computer is doing is just the rendering. However, you need to run a local server in both singleplayer and when you're hosting a server (obviously), and it's just too much for your CPU to handle.
