My friend is running Mac OS X 10.8.4, the latest of the Mountain Lion OS. He runs it on a very new MacBook Air. (Newest model with the Intel 4th generation Haswell processor.) When he goes to start his Minecraft 1.6 launcher, he receives a Java bootstrap error. He has already reinstalled and updated both his Java and launcher. Any fixes?
Something's blocking Minecraft's downloads.
What antiviruses/firewalls are he using? (I know that it's unlikely to have an antivirus on a Mac but it still happens).
He has informed me that he does use "Avast!"... but he has no active firewall with that. Otherwise, the only firewall/antivirus he has installed is the default Mac Gatekeeper. He told me that he has had some problems with it using AirPlay, so he'll do some testing. I'll keep this thread updated if I can.
Thanks again for your help!!

UPDATE:
He tested it and said it didn't work letting it through the firewall... any other ideas? Or, is there something else he can try?
