Hello, my bin folder in my .minecraft isn't showing. I saw there was a problem with my mods and I fixed it. But now, I can't seem to find my bin folder. I don't know how to fix this and I don't know if I should create another new .minecraft folder. I'm using the latest Java Jre and I don't know what's going on. It would be great if someone can help me. Thanks!
With 1.6, the minecraft directory is now changed. Instead of the bin, you have now multiple minecraft jars, located in Versions\WhateverVersionYouWant. You'll need to remember to copy the version you want, because if you just mod it without copy, it'll just redownload it. Pick the version, duplicate it, then rename it to like: 1.6.2_Mods. Then go to that folder you just recently renamed, rename the jar and the json file to the name of the folder (1.6.2_Mods). Then open the JSON file with wordpad or notepad++ (i prefer notepad++) or TextEdit on the mac. On the first line, change id: "InsertVersionHere" to the folder name: id: "1.6.2_Mods". When you done that, save and close the JSON file then mod the jar just like normal and your done!
NOTE: The names of the folders, jars, and JSON files are case sensitive! You do not need to rename the natives file!
