My Windows 7 Dell laptop recently stopped loading both Vanilla and modded Minecraft. It hasn't given me a reason, so please help me get Minecraft working again.
I have Java 7 Update 17 installed on my laptop and it's not a black screen that comes up - nothing comes up. I double-click on Minecraft or any of the others and it shows the loading icon next to the cursor and then just stops.
Ok, here is a suggestion I found from other websites (You could always try Google!)
Your java is not properly installed: Try reinstalling your Java
or you could try running the game in compatibility mode
1. Right click Minecraft.exe 2. Go in to properties 3. Click the compatibility sub menu 4. Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for" 5. Click your OS from the dropdown menu 6. Click "Apply", then click "Ok" 7. Try to run Minecraft
It should work.. If it doesn't I have no idea..

Yeah, most likely reason I can think of is that you somehow accidentally uninstalled Java, since it can't play ANY MC-related games.
