First off let me be extremelly clear here. I DO NOT have more than 1 value in the settings.
If you look at the screenshot you can see that there are 2 Arguments for Memory and its causing HUGE problems trying to run the game with any mods at all. Java uses the LAST argument and its overriding anything i put in the settings.
See Screenshot:
I am putting this post in the unmodded section because the problem occurs whether i mod the game or not.
I have 2 computers 1 intel with Massive horsepower and 32 gigs of ram <----this is the one i have trouble with.
If i test Minecraft useing the SAME INSTALL by copying it to my AMD machine with only 8 gigs of ram it runs like a champ no problems. I can open the snooper area (which is where i got this screenshot from) and it does NOT show 2 Memory Arguments.
I seriously cannot understand why this is happening.
System Specs
Intel 4760k @ 4.6ghz
32 gigs of ram
Windows 7 64 bit
Most Recent Java (same version as on other computer)
NVidia 760 GTX w/4gb ram
Honestly i shouldnt be having issues with a computer with those specs...i should be cruising at 300fps or more lol.
Why are you allocating so much RAM, there's not going to be any performance benefits.
I get a pretty good FPS with 256MB of RAM and a GTX 560.
I have 32gb why not? I wanted to cap its ram use (and i dont know what that is. Thats also from me testing it trying to get it to use more ram.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Edit:
I dont mean to sound annoyed but you took the time to stop by this post and instead of giving me helpful solutions you criticize me for something that is irrelevent to my problem?
Im really in need of a solution not comments on me using more ram than is needed.
I think you know that me assigning 8gb ram to my system isnt the cause of Java using 2 memory flags...ive tried all combinations of ram size other than 8 and it makes no difference.
Also, just because you can run at 256 doesnt mean that i want to run vanilla Minecraft.
Im having trouble running the game with the setting like its at.
I believe either windows live or another program added a Java Option to my registry. I changed it from the 512m to 4096m and whalla after a reboot it now shows 2 java entries still but the second one is 4096 now...100% was the problem as now the game is WAY faster than before.
After dealing with this for a week now i feel as though others should know that they could be having the same problem and not even know it.
I will make a separate post about this conflict in the appropriate area.
You can remove those in Control Panel -> Java Control Panel -> Java tab -> View -> Runtime Parameters on the Java version you're using. If they don't show up there, try the System tab instead of the User tab.
