I was just playing Minecraft, planting/growing some trees when all of a sudden, I went to break some leaves and they automatically reappeared. I tried punching other leaves and they did the same, when seconds earlier, I was punching leaves and they broke/disappeared correctly. It was almost acting like a case of those protection plug-ins that some servers have or whatever (sorry, I don't know exactly what they are since I've never played online, but I hope someone knows what I mean).
Thinking only little of it, I went to toss some seeds from my inventory. I tossed the four of them, but then noticed I still had four displaying in my hotbar, yet I was unable to throw them anymore, like they weren't really there but were only showing. I was thinking it might the same with the leaves.
This was getting odd. I was going to sleep (in-game), log out, close Minecraft, and try restarting. Only, it get more odd. Upon sleeping, it transitioned to day, but the screen stayed where it was, and I was unable to do anything, literally at all. Presing the "esc" key didn't bring up the menu, rather I heard jumping. I had to force close the window. Upon starting the game back up, everything was fine, but I can't be sure if these leaves I broke but still displayed were there or not (the seeds were not, though).
To clarify, performance/frame rate didn't suffer at all when any of this occured.
Out of curiosity, I checked RAM useage before closing it, and one case of javaw.exe was around 2,009,xxx KB or something (I have a second around 17x,xxx KB; is that normal?), yet the in-game F3 display only showed it using the normal few hundred MB or so out of about 38xx MB allocated. Would this cause it? I have been running Minecraft much of the day, and it was open to LAN at the time (a friend was playing with my earlier). I am using basically a vanilla Minecraft setup (only MCPatcher and a texture pack differ). I have a 64-bit version of Java, and have allocated 4GB to it (I think). In the past, before I allocated anything more than the default, I have gotten the "out of memory" crash once, but that was it.
I'm not sure, as it only happened once. I suppose that might be the only time javaw.exe has reached ~2GB use to have had it happen or soemthing. It was more a question of curiousity and if anyone knew if javaw.exe reaching ~2GB use caused it.
