Hi,

When i get to the Minecraft home screen/title page and click either single player or multiplayer none of the buttons work beyond this point. Exact steps taken listed below:

1. I launch Minecraft from my desktop and the launcher opens.

2. I press the play button (I am in online mode and already logged in to my account).

3.Then when the client opens i click on single player/multiplayer

4. Then i am unable to press any buttons in the launcher past this point e.g. create new world or cancel. Please note that the cleint has not crashed/frozen at this point as it seems to still pick up that my cursor is hovering over the buttons as they still have the blue tint.

I have tried re-installing different versions of Minecraft and java numerous amounts of times!

Any help would be much appreciated,

Hi,

That's weird behaviour, do you have any mods installed?

If not, do this:

To make sure the launcher stays open: click Edit Profile, then check Launcher Visibility, select Keep Launcher Open and finally hit Save Profile.

Next play the game, and wait until you get the issue with not being able to hit buttons.

When that happens, go to the minecraft launcher, switch to the "Development Console" tab, and copy all the text with Control + A then Control + C.

Then paste the text into a spoiler here.

I have just purchased a new laptop (A HP split x2) and i have downloaded a fresh copy of mc and java. I noticed that there was nothing being outputed into the console when the game opened which seemed a little strange.
Sorry i was not able to put it in the spoiler (i couldent figure out how to) anyway here is the console log:

Dude, I think i have some bad news for you..

I have had the exact same problem! And I just found out that I have the exact same laptop as you which I recently bought.

Do you think this could be a problem with that?
