Hello,
Well today i was just playing some minecraft (as one would) had to go somewhere so i closed it. Came back and my computer could not find the file, it was missing (this has happened before) so i go on Minecaft.net to redownload but when i downloaded it this poped up



This has never happened before. Then i click ok and then this pops up!




I tried to save in a different location and it still dosnt work. I have no idea what is happening, if anyone could help this would be great

I am unable to access the exceptions list because it is a school laptop that we get and it has a password for all that stuff so that we are unable to change it

This is in the correct place and is a false alarm with Trend Micro. It happened once before with the old launcher and Trend Micro as well.
For the launcher you had, Trend Micro ate it.
I haven't read reports of any other antiviruses causing problems with the new launcher.

It has just happened like 3 hours ago, before that I was perfectly fine, that is why I am so confused of why this is happening

Something i just found out, i cant download the newest laucher from minecraft.net but i can still download and run 1.5.2 launcher without it getting removed.

If it's a school laptop, are you sure you're allowed to be using it for Minecraft? If you are, ask for the password from whoever gave you the laptop.

hahaha, we can do what ever we want with the laptops, kind of (even have far cry 3 on it) also they wouldnt give out the passwords

That is the thing, I keep it till year 12 (two more years) then we give them back because we technically don’t "own" them. I heard this happened in the old launcher as well, they marked it incorrectly, I might try to hassle them or just wait it out until they fix it
