Running Minecraft 1.5.2 vanilla (was running Pixelmon 2.2 previously, using vanilla to troubleshoot the crash)
specs: Asus Republic of Gamers laptop.
Intel Core 2 duo CPU P7450 @ 2.13GHz 2.13 GHz
4.00 GB ram
64-bit Windows 7 enterprise fully updated.
Nvidia GeForce 9800m GS 512 MB Graphics
Java 7 update 25 (64 bit)
The Scoop:
Minecraft ran flawlessly until 2 weeks ago. I booted Minecraft and some files had gone corrupt and needed to be re installed. I force updated, re installed Forge, Rei's minimap, Pixelmon 2.2. Got back at it. I noticed very quickly that Minecraft would freeze often. It took some minor bug testing to see that every time I was about to take fall damage, Minecraft would seize up. screen would lock... music/sounds would keep playing. I'd need to end process from task manager to get Minecraft to close. upon reopening Minecraft, and re logging in, I'd come too and take the fall damage, the fall damage sound would play and my hearts would go down accordingly. Life continues. Also, sporadically, if something near me takes fall damage, same thing. seize, end task, re log.
My actions thus far:
Force Update. problem persisted.
re installed from the ground up, Minecraft 1.5.2 Problem persisted in vanilla Minecraft
java 7 (tried 32, and 64) Problem persists.
Graphics drivers Problem persists
Toggled graphics options every which way I could think of. Problem persists.
And I'm out of ideas, and can't find any solutions to this particular problem. One forum mentioned it was an issue with certain graphics cards settings... Maybe the solution lies within NVidia's Options... But I'd love some input from someone with more knowledge on this than myself.

Retired StaffI cannot see how it is connected, but please update your graphics drivers here, it is fairly outdated anyways.

If problem persists, please delete the resource folder from the Minecraft directory and try to trigger fall damage to see if the game still locks up.
Now, back to my Mew hunting
