I am using the 1.6.2 minecraft client and am having some proxy problems...
The launcher is unable to download any updates and even less connecting to the minecraft servers.
The weird thing is that I tried downloading the packets manually and I am able to. So the proxy is letting me access these sties.
But for some reason, the minecraft launcher is not being able to. I'm guessing it's missing the proxy credentials.
I've searched and found the batch file solution, which I tried and doesn't work. And also adding some tags at the end of the minecraft launcher shortcut. which also did not work.
This is a simple matter of adding the proxy address and credentials, but it seems there is no easy way of doing this.
Anyone has any ideas? Has anyone had this same issue and solved it?
HTTP proxy server support worked fine in 1.5.2 with the right startup parameters. I've seen mention of support for SOCKS5 proxy in 1.6.2, but not HTTP. What gives?
Indeed. We need http proxy access as well to run 4 servers for a number of schools. I hope support for this gets added back in so we can run the latest versions...
I still have this problem since the 1.4 update and I still can't find any fixes (I even deinstalled my antivirus but still) so if anyone find something please post it here i'm dying to try the redstone update.

And here is a screenshot of the "Update Notes" tab. It cant even show a simple webpage:
The proper command line arguments to specify a proxy are as follow:
For example,
Use of these arguments don't work for http proxy servers in new launcher for Minecraft v1.6. It works only socks proxy servers.
