Hi, so I made an account here to specifically ask this question. I have read threads about this and know about the usual advice.
I run my minecraft starting at 26fps and drops significantly after to about 11fps in a few minutes. This happens in both multiplayer and singleplayer so it should be something to do with my computer.
I have set the settings accordingly to run better, tried allocating more/less memory to minecraft, set priority to high, have the 64bit java, etc.
I have also made sure my drivers are updated.
The only thing I have yet to do is to download optifine. Problem is I dont understand how I can run other games with decent fps and not minecraft? I also have friends/siblings having a lower spec PC and having better fps than me. Am I doing something wrong here?
Central Processing Unit: 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GEFORCE 765M GTX 2GB DDR5 with Optimus Technology
Memory (RAM) : 8GB DDR3 1600mhz(2x4)
Thermal Compound : IC Diamond Thermal Compound CPU + GPU
Display : 15.6 Inch Full HD Premium Matte LED display with 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920 x1080)
Please make sure the nVidia card is rendering Minecraft and not your Intel HD 4600. Right click on Minecraft, "Run with graphics processor", "High-performance nVidia card".
You can also set Java to automatically use the nVidia card via the nVidia control panel. Java applications are not detected as "high-usage", per se, and this is what is causing the issue.
