Hi I am having a problem on the new minecraft launcher that you can allocate more memory on... I have 8GB of ram left but yet it won't let me allocate more than 1GB... Anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you fix it... Thanks for your help

Why are you trying to allocate so much RAM? You shouldn't need more than ~256MB for vanilla.

As for you question, make sure the only version of Java installed is the the x64 version.
