My sister and i want to play a Lan server, but we somehow cant seem to do it. When we go to our grandma house, we can connect to each others, but at home we cant. Our minecraft client seem pretty fine as well, doesnt seem anything wrong with it. So when we go to our grandma place, we can connect as well as our little niephews can connect also. When we are at home my sister cant connect but i can connect with our little niephews. Our laptops are window 7( no mac or others). My laptop is Toshiba's and her is HP, idk if it got to do something with that or not. I also tried this other way ( start menu>run> "cmd"> ipconfig)i found our ip address and tried replacing x.x.x.x:59005 (replace x with address) but still nothing. I notice something, but idk if it nothing or so, we're connected to the same Internet, and our ip addresses are different.
1. yes we are both using same versions, 1.5.2 (we dont want to gp 1.6.2)
2. both of our firewall, i already allowed minecraft and java. 3. Our minecraft work fine, nothing wrong with it, we can play it but somehow cant connect
4. Hers is HP kind, mine is Toshiba ( which if i recall, at first it had said (my name)-pc, hers (name)-hp)
5. different ip addresses (again dont know if it got to do something with it)
6. both is connect to the same internet of course
7. my internet set home and hers, well forgot but got a bench picture on it.
8. we can connect at our grandma but not at home...
If i found anything else out ill update as soon as i can.
Sorry. I actually have the same problem, I can't connect to my little brother. There is nothing we have figured out about it, and we have been fine for two years. you sorta get used to it...(try finding a server you both can play on. like game.mcplotmadness.com it has a respectful community that won't bother you while you are playing together. :))

I was born blind, but I've never had a problem seeing. I see through my bending.
People see me and think I'm weak. But I can take care of myself, by myself.
Go to "run". Type in cmd. When the command prompt comes up type in ipconfig. Once that is done look up your ip4 address. Type that in multiplier and see if it works.

I would do that but we just would like a regular lan server, not like a real server, hopefully i will find the problem soon
