I use Mac OS X 10.8.4 and I have Java update 25
I can't seem to play single player mode anymore. Whenever I go to play one of my worlds, it seems to get stuck on "downloading terrain" and my computer sometimes freezes up. Sometimes the world will only load the inventory and the rest of the world is black, or I've had it where the sky only loads. I never get a crash message that goes along with it. I have tried to redownload minecraft, change the graphic settings on multi-player and empty my bin and nothing seems to solve the problem. My server works fine though.
If anyone can help me out that would be super awesome. If you need anymore details, let me know.
**And I don't have any special texture packs
This happens to me when I'm running Minecraft off a drive with low I/O (like a USB or something). I just have to wait it out, and it goes eventually. Still, check if something is using a lot of I/O or .minecraft is not on Mac HD. Steam and Skype are both well-known I/O hoggers. And make sure they've been quit, not closed. I HATE how my Mac keeps everything open.
