So me and my brother play a lot of LAN MineCraft together. He uses his PC and I use my MacBook. We also have a desktop Mac, which we use whenever one of our friends come over and play MineCraft with us. So, like I was saying, we play a lot of LAN. He hosts the LAN on his PC because, for some reason, LAN won't work when we use the Macs. Anyway, the third Mac that I was talking about (the desktop) was working fine with LAN until recently. When we had a friend over, my friend hosted a LAN world on my brother's PC and I joined from the MacBook. My brother decided to play with us, so he opened MineCraft on the desktop Mac. He clicked the Multiplayer button on the title screen, and looked to see if our LAN world showed up as an option. For some reason, it didn't. We tried to fix it, everything from reloading the LAN world to trying a different world, to logging in on a different account, but the LAN world wouldn't show up on the desktop Mac. We still can't get it to work. Can anyone help me?
Note: I think it's a problem with the desktop Mac, because the LAN world shows up on my MacBook, and I can log on. Also, if you are wondering, we ARE all logged on to the same Wi-Fi.
Since you are logged on to the same Wi-Fi, LAN games should work. Try allowing Minecraft through your firewall or try hosting the server from a different computer.
