When I first updated to Minecraft 1.6, I had the fatal bootstrap error that there are threads about, I couldn't get it to work, because my minecraft was missing a versions folder. I deleted .minecraft and minecraft.exe and attempted to try again. When I try to download minecraft 1.6, I click run when the download is finished, it says opening, but nothing happens (I have waited for 5 minutes). I successfully downloaded the old launcher, but I cant click options, and when i run the game it says unable to create .minecraft directory. i would really like to play the new update, can someone please help
Download the latest version of the launcher, and use that.
1. Hold down the Windows Key and R to bring up the Run dialog. 2. Type in: %appdata%\.minecraft and click Ok. 3. Delete all files except the saves folder. 4. Open the launcher and click on Edit Profile 5. Set the Launcher Visbility: to Keep the launcher open 6. Try to start Minecraft. 7. Copy the contents of the Development Console tab, and paste them in a reply post.
