I had no problems before, but since the new update I can't connect to minecraft.net using any launcher. I can't connect with Technic Launcher, FTB launcher, and when I downloaded the new minecraft launcher, I couldn't even get it started. I got the following error message.

I haven't been able to play since the launcher was updated and I don't understand the problem.

This could be an interesting problem.

What antivirus/firewall software do you have?

Let's try the easy solution first.

Open the add/remove programs list, and uninstall any mention of Java.
After you have completely removed Java reboot your computer.

Download java from here and try running Minecraft.

OK,
1) Are you 100% sure you can connect to minecraft.net

2) I'm no pro or anything but by the looks it's having trouble connecting to the minecraft 1.6.2 download server.

3) Have you tried re-downloading the launcher???

I can't think of much else.

I use ESET antivirus, and it's not a java problem, as I can run the old minecraft in Technic and FTB.
Yes I can connect to minecraft.net, I am able to sign into my profile on the website. I have re-downloaded the launcher several times and got the same problem every time.

Nope, nothing.

Is there maybe somewhere that I can download the contents of the .minecraft folder from? The problem seems to lie in downloading the files, mainly.

1. Hold down the Windows Key and R to bring up the Run dialog.
2. Copy and paste the code below into it and click Ok
3. This will create a file named Debug.txt on your desktop, copy and paste the contents of that file into a reply.

I have the same problem, the file it's trying to download (launcher.pack.lzma) is in the .minecraft folder, but it still will not let me go online. You can download the file by itself but it won't help. It started when I download Avast Anti-virus, but when I deleted it, nothing changed, and I went into my firewall setting, but Minecraft and Java Binary both had access.
