My profile says I don't have Minecraft when I got a gift code to one.

I got my Minecraft from a gift code from a friend. I played minecraft for a couple hours and decided I wanted to change my skin. When I went to the skindex and pressed "upload to minecraft" it directed me to my Minecraft Proflie Page with a red text that said "You need to purchase minecraft to change your skin"
I don't know what's wrong, please help.

Edit: Problem has been solved, I was in the wrong account.

Download the skin you want to your computer.

Then goto minecraft.net/login and login. After you login go to Profile.

There under the Change how you look in Minecraft click Choose File and select the skin you downloaded, and then click Upload.

See if that works.
