Wondering if anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it.

After 5-20 min. of starting MInecraft, 100% of the cpu is being used and I get around 1fps.




specs:
AMD anthon II quad core @ 3.2ghz

Nvidia geforce gt 240

8GB DDR3 Ram

2GB ram dedicated to Minecraft

I have uninstalled, reinstalled Java, scaned for virus and malaware, and got nothing.

It could be programs running in the background. For windows type msconfig in the run box, and turn off unneeded programs.

Can you take a screenshot of your task manager and post it here?

If you completely close Minecraft, do both of those javaw.exe processes close with it?
Or do they remain running?

No, one of the javaw.exe stays open and cpu usage is still high

Alright lets try to figure out where that other Java process is coming from.

Start Minecraft up so that Java process is running.
Download my process list script (right click -> save link as) and run it.
It will create a file on your desktop named PsList.txt.
Post the contents of that file in your reply.

Alright one is the launcher, one is the actual game. Nothing wrong there.

I noticed you have Java 8 installed. Try downgrading to Java 7 and see if that helps.

I'm guessing this was never solved. i have a similar issue to this. This started after the 1.6.1 update to 1.6.2 Previously, I could watch vlc or netflix while playing MC. Now, forget it. Try to watch a video on my computer with a video player and play mc at the same time takes up 100% cpu usage and makes both programs freeze up, and in mc, when playing survival, that can be deadly.

The system is only a few months old, so here are the specs:
MSI Z77A-G41 Intel 7 Series Z77 Motherboard
Intel Quad Core 3.30 GHz
Kingston HyperX Red 8GB (X2)
MSI R6450-MD2GD3/LP Radeon HD 6450 Video Card - 2GB, DDR (X2)

Hard drives vary, main one is a 1tb, all drives are sata

Using four monitors, no antivirus. Recently re-installed OS (within last week), INstalls bare drivers to get MC and vlc going, problem showed up right away. No extra programs running in the background, I do show 2 of the javaw's running, (java is the 7u25, 64 bit), already determined one was the launcher. I updated all my board/graphic drivers today via MSI update Live, tried again a few minutes ago. same result. If I play MC solo, I get some lag, and to be really baffling, it's worse playing a single map than joining one of my servers. I also have a server.jar file I run locally for myself to test things on, I can't play it anymore on my pc. It lags so badly, you go to break a block, it takes like 10 seconds for the animation to move. Pretty sucky for a pair of 2gb video cards, eh?

So any ideas?
