So I recently got the new minecraft launcher and when minecraft opened my computer was fine. However when I hit the + button in the top left corner the window froze and then my mac rebooted. It said it rebooted due to panic. I tried several times since the launcher came out and even though minecraft said they were fixing bugs, this one was not fixed (I know its probably a problem with my computer). About 2/3 times I try using a larger window my computer reboots due to panic. Even with no other tabs open it still does it about half of the time although I did see a slight change in how often it works. This is really bugging me because I hate playing minecraft in a smaller window and fullscreen version is just annoying because its a lot harder to switch between tabs. Does anyone know what the problem is or how I can fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pressing F11 makes Minecraft go full screen, not pressing the maximize window button. (You can also go into the options and turn Full Screen on). The Maximize window button makes minecraft lag, just press Alt+Tab to switch programs.

I forgot to mention I was on a mac, but command tab does the same, however my keyboard's command key is broken. Also since f11 doesn't make my minecraft go fullscreen, instead it just makes me go to my desktop.

You mentioned you were on a mac, I have just never used a Mac. I can't really help you anymore than giving the F11 advice =\
Sorry I can't be of more help, but that is happening to me as well as others I know playing on Mac. I'm sure it's an issue they'll address in the future.
