Upon logging into my single player world, some chunks in the nether that I'd previously built upon had reverted to their original state. Lava only starting to flow from sources, no player changes, etc.
Nothing in these chunks will save, though immediately adjacent chunks will save changes. There seems to be an irregular perimeter, that I have yet to map out, but it is quite large.
Does anyone have a clue what's going on and/or how to fix it?

Update:
While I never found the cause of the problem, I did find a partial solution. By deleting the region files containing the offending chunks, and regenerating them, they now save properly.
Additionally, I found that the boundary between savable and non-savable chunks was NOT a region file boundary, and crossed at least two regions. Hopefully this will help others troubleshoot the problem should they encounter it in the future.
