I am having issues with the new Minecraft launcher and Kaspersky Internet Security. Prior to the new launcher, everything worked fine, but when I got back from a trip out of country and DL'd the new launcher, it now is "being blocked" by Kaspersky.
When I try and launch the new launcher, the Java window shows up first, and I can see it spewing errors of not being able to connect, then the launcher shows up. Upon trying to login, It always says that it cannot connect to the Minecraft Servers.
What I know is happening from trying things out, is Java's network activity is ultimately being blocked. I know this because if I add an exception (in Kaspersky) to not scan any of Java's network activity, I am able to connect to the Minecraft server via the launcher.
However, I am not one who would like to not monitor Java, as it just so happens to be one of the most vulnerable programs on the market. So ultimately I am wondering if anyone knows anything more about this issue, such as why is the new launcher blocked where as the old one worked fine? Also, I am wondering if Mojang knows anything about this (if it is widespread enough) and if they plan on doing anything about it.
I am running the following:
Win7 x64 (updated)
KIS 2013 (updated)
MC 1.6.2 (launcher version says 1.1.1 I think)
Any help or knowledge would be appreciated, thanks!
I know that it is in Kaspersky settings > additional > network. I know because my dad went there to fix it for me. I'm not sure what he did there. He found a way to make it not check SSL certificates for java.
If you are using Kaspersky Internet Security and cannot connect to Mojang's servers, turn off Encrypted Connections Scan by following this guide: http://support.kaspersky.com/9927#block1
