My laptop's programs have been acting funny (random uninstallations and stuff), and what do you know, Minecraft can't launch Java. The error says, "The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted." I have Java 7 and Java 7 Update 25 (I think that's JRE) installed; they should both be 32-bit. Why won't it work?
Having too many installations of Java is known to cause the issue you are describing. Please attempt to uninstall all versions of Java present on the machine, reboot, then grab the latest here. http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
With the new launcher, it is also possible to point the client to use Java manually.
