I know this is my first post so ill make my introduction quick before I get to the main problem: Hello, my name is Glexen and I adore Minecraft, being one of the few games I can play on my laptop and not have any problems with it.

Well ... used to be able to play. This is where the problem starts with me and the sole reasion why I had to make an account for this site. It was when I finally got the newest Minecraft Launcher and, in turn, the newest patches. Now, ill be honest, this computer isnt very good but before 1.6, my computer had no problems running it at all. After that patch, it is now haveing it so that Minecraft now lags as if i just exploded a stupid number ofTnT Blocks and makeing my FPS drop like a stone and made the game unplayable for me.

I did a little test, seeing as I still have my old 1.5.2 launcher and the game STILL runs great with the old launcher. Yet when I switched to 1.5.2 to the new launcher and play it through the new launcher, it lags like before, dare I say it lags even worse than useing the 1.6.2 update game.

The only thing I can really come up with is that the new launcher is makeing my game have unreasionable ammounts of lag. How it is doing it I have no idea, but the new launcher is really killing my will to play Minecraft untill the problem is found is fixed, either by myself if this is an isolated case or by Majong if it is a problem.

Here are my computer Spec's (and this is a ... less than decent one-ish year old laptop with no individual Graphic's card)
Laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad S400
CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-3217U Processor (3M Cache, 1.80 GHz) -w- processor graphics card.
OS: Windows 8 64-bit
RAM: 4 Gig's!

I hope that this infomation helps with what problems I am haveing with. I really dont see why Mincraft works with the older Launcher but the newer one just makes Minecraft Lag to the point of being nearly unplayable.

Ok, An update:

I have (after banging my head aganst this computer for about half a day), finally found the proper Graphic's Drivers and updated them to see if this will fix the probelm. Well, it is both a good news/bad news thing here.

The Good news: Updateing the Driver DID help the problem and it lags a little bit less now...

The Bad news: Unfortuneately, it still lags way too much to really be able to play, even after only a half an hour's play in a newly generated world. The problem is lessened, but not elimanated, even creating a new 1.6.2 game in a brand new world. It takes some time, but then the lag starts to hit again. Especally in jungle biome's where my FPS rate just bombs.

The Driver updates did help ... but I still have that problem and I dont know why I have it. Especaly when the previous patch game and launcher made it so that I can play without any sort of probem what-so-ever.

Still, thanks Tedster for telling me this. Although I still have the old launcher and can still play 1.5.2 ... I wont be able to play the newst editions until I can get a new computer or something.

What FPS are you getting with Graphics set to Fast, and Render Distance set to Short?
