Me and my brother used to play Minecraft the whole time , on different Computer at the same houes and connected to the same network. With two Premium Accounts.
When suddenly today we were playing normally and i disconnected from the server , and tried to reconnect
But the LAN server wasn't showing up on the server list , We tried several times hosting from different Computers , but nothing worked. Why did this suddenly happen? And how can i fix it? Please help , thank you.
EDIT: LAN play seems to work with other games that we tried to play like CubeWorld , We played LAN normally , So i guess the problem comes from Minecraft?
Having the same issues. I am using a macbook pro, my sis is using a Dell Windows 8. We were able to play before on LAN world, now it doesn't let us. It has a variety of different messages that comes up. When I try to connect to her world, it says "connecting to server" for a while and then times out. We are both on internet.
I hope someone replies to this soon. Minecraft is not as fun with just one person.
Ok, so I think I can help at least one of you. According to what I've found, the reason why the LAN server isn't showing up on the server list is a problem with Minecraft 1.8 not recognizing the LAN server directly. Therefore, you'll have to use direct connect instead. This means you'll have to manually set the IP.
When someone uses open to LAN, there should be a message going "local game hosted on port *number*". Note down the number. Now, on the same machine, open "cmd", windows command line, and write in "ipconfig". Now, look for "IPv4 adress" and note down the number next to it. Now, the other person goes to multiplayer, direct connect, you type in the IPv4 adress, then a colon and the number from in-game.
In the end, it should be something like "10.x.x.xxx:57711". Just click connect and you should be mostly good to go. If this doesn't work, you might just have to use hamachi or rig up a server for just you two...

I'm having the same issue with my sister.
