um never mind i fixed it but i have a question

my computer has 1 GB of ram so my minecraft is really laggy and it is a dell OptiPlex GX280 so i i bought and installed this would it run better?

Your OpenGL is the problem why your Minecraft won't start. If you have a graphic card, remove it, then restart Minecraft. If not, probably your computer is a bit old (as tyteen stated) and the OpenGL is not supported.

um ya yoshi i fixed my opengl wich os why i asked about the ram my minecraft starts fine it is just laggy

So your computer starts fine now? It probably laggy due to you having only 1GB RAM (The minimum requirement is 2GB RAM)
