Minecraft 1.6 launcher always keeps me offline

As the title suggests, it keeps me offline all the time. I want to join my multiplayer servers on it. How do I fix it?

The login area says 'Play Offline'.

Have you ever played it in the new launcher before? And then it started? Or was it always like this?

If you have ever played it:
Log out, close the window, open and log in.

If you haven't:
Make sure that your credentials are right, make a new profile and try that.

If it still doesn't work:
Try and post some screenshots/crash logs from the past/ or anything useful.
