I can't update the minecraft version.while it updates it says it can't download something.

Are you on a Mac? Windows? Using Linux? And it would be useful to know what message it says.
But before you reply with the info, are you using the new launcher?

It's Windows Vista.I'm using the new launcher and it says it can't download guavo and lwigl.jar.
